Due to Coronavirus and recommended social distancing we are doing a webinar.  Clearing records includes everything from expungements which can allow you to legally tell an employer other than the government that you have no criminal record, to federal or state pardons which will completely get rid of your record, to getting arrests expunged when you were factually innocent. Other example is dismissal in furtherance of justice.

Most public defender offices do not do expungements for Non citizens bc of the need for immigration law knowledge but our office does advise on these issues, as we consult with Imm lawyers and keep up on the laws in these areas.

Also with cannabis prop 64 expungements there’s a federal court ruling that prop 64 insufficient relief to count as dismissal for federal court. So that’s an issue for all non citizens with major convictions.
